The General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama

Prof. Dr.. KH. Said Aqil Siradj, M.A. (born in Cirebon, West Java, July 3, 1953) is  the General Chairman (Tanfidziyah) of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama, period 2010-2015.

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is the largest Sunni Muslim organization in Indonesia.

The NU was established on January 31, 1926 as a reaction to the modernist Muhammadiyah organization. Some estimates of its membership range as high as 80 million, although it is hard to account for this number.
